Ahhhhh. Relax.

This was my second stay at The Wayward Inn and definitely not my last. Chemainus is such a cute and friendly little town for a weekend getaway at any time of the year. And its also well situated as a base to explore more of the Cowichan Valley. The suite is cute, cozy and welcoming. Brett and Wyatt are respectful and unobtrusive. The fresh eggs and snacks were a fun and kind perk! Dont hesitate to book here.

Beautiful, cozy inn with lovely hosts

We had the best time at Wayward Inn. It was the perfect place to relax and recuperate after a busy January. Rain wasn’t a problem because it was an excuse to stay in, take warm baths and enjoy the thoughtfully curated space — including excellent books, games, snacks and more. Would definitely return.

So Charming 💜

We loved our time at the Wayward Inn! Our kids (2 and 5 yo) loved the deep soaking tub that they could fit in together and it’s a very short walk to the beach, which also has a great playground. Brett and Wyatt left out age appropriate toys and had everything covered to make home away from home easier with littles (high chair/pack’n’play/kid dishes/snacks). We enjoyed the fresh eggs from their chickens and all the thoughtful touches throughout the space—it was clear that they care about guests comfort and have created a really wonderful getaway. Things I loved about the Wayward Inn

- the intentionality of the books, art, and many crystals throughout the suite - the private patio to enjoy a quiet breakfast - the local coffee, cream, and chocolate milk supplied by the hosts - the short walk down to Kin Beach, or into town to catch a show at the theatre, or down the road to grab some baked goods Thanks for the great stay!

A relaxing getaway!

Brett and Wyatt have done so much to create a relaxing and homey place to stay. Perfect for a quiet weekend getaway, or a home base for travelling out around the Duncan/Chemainus/Ladysmith area. Had everything we needed to cook a tasty meal in (aside from groceries of course, which were minutes away) and was so comfortable and welcoming. I definitely recommend anyone looking for a nice vacation to check the Wayward Inn out!

The Wayward Inn is the perfect stay in Chemainus. It is a beautiful suite with everything you need and more. We had a wonderful stay.

Queer magic

What can we say? We chose the Wayward Inn for our very first romantic getaway back in 2021, and we returned in there 2024 for our handfasting ceremony on the beach! The suite itself is a romantic cottage-core dream, thoughtfully decorated, full of plants and light, and of course the huge bathtub in the bedroom. We really appreciate the covered patio, even when we visited in October it was protected enough to provide a lovely private oasis of calm for morning coffee together. Foodies take note, this was the best equipped kitchen I’ve ever experienced in a BnB, and we found some wonderful fresh produce at a little coffee shop/book store supplied by local farmers. As a visibly queer and trans couple, it can be a little nerve-wracking finding spaces where we don’t get side-eyed, but Brett and Wyatt made us feel so welcome. And we were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable we felt wandering the little shops and eateries in Chemainus. So if you’re looking for a respite from the Too Much-ness of the world, or just need a little magic in your getaway experience, we highly recommend you give the Wayward Inn a try. And fellow romantics - while we can’t guarantee that bringing your sweetie here will result in you forming the partnership of your dreams, it worked for us :).

Sweet Retreat

My spouse and I have stayed at the Wayward Inn multiple times since 2021. We loved it so much we decided to stay there for our handfasting in October 2024. It was such a perfect location: quiet and homey, right by the ocean, and walking distance to sweet local shops. We wanted our handfasting to reflect what was important to us: nature, friendship, and community. The interior is cozy and warm - soft furnishings and blankets, cozy additions like a fully outfitted kitchen, lavender-scented products, and a beautiful side garden with stunning flowers. Also, highly recommend checking out Jollity Farm Shop and Cafe! Fresh local foods, coffee, and even secondhand books! We've picked up lots of local strawberries there which have been the perfect touch to a picnic on the beach.

Completely Magical

I truly can't recommend this beautiful place enough!! It was magic from the moment we booked. Incredible customer service - you can tell they truly care about what they are creating. The space is beautiful and comfortable. There are added touches everywhere that are so intentional and enjoyable. The bathtub alone is worth the trip!! The beach is a tiny walk away and the town of Chemainus is adorable and has incredible places to eat. Brett and Wyatt are deeply kind and hospitable without being intrusive. I can't wait to return!!

I’ve enjoyed three stays at the Wayward Inn. A quaint place with comfortable furniture. Brett and Wyatt have done an excellent job making it joyful for one and all. The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed. They provided a locally roasted coffee that is delicious. I loved the bedroom with the beautiful extra large bathtub. I’ve been a shower guy since joining the military but this tub has me hooked. There was more than enough hot water for me to enjoy. I hope to return to The Wayward Inn again soon. I hope your visit is as pleasing as mine!
