We are a multi-cultural household and celebrate a variety of holidays, so you may encounter seasonal decor at the Wayward Inn celebrating the spring equinox, Diwali, Christmas, etc.
The Wayward Inn is located on Penelakut, Stz'umiunus, Qwu'utsun, and Snuneymuxw traditional territory. We are grateful to the Indigenous tribes who have taken care of these lands and waters since time immemorial. We are working on being good neighbours, and have contributed and participated in the Walk for the Children organized by the Penelakut Nation. For those wanting to support local Indigenous community, we encourage you to buy your groceries, souvenirs, and Indigenous art at the Salish Sea Market, located 3 blocks from The Wayward Inn, or donate to local Indigenous Non-Profits, such as:
We think living in good relationship with the planet is important. We use compostable and/or recycled plastic bags, eco-friendly and unscented laundry detergents, encourage guests to use the recycling and compost bins provided in addition to garbage bins, we hope to soon be upgrading our smart baseboard heaters to a heat pump, we encourage guests to be mindful of water and energy consumption, and we are committed to invasive plant species removal on the grounds of The Wayward Inn.
This is a safer space to be you. Some of the books and films at the Wayward Inn feature 2SLGBTQIA+ characters, and we often donate to 2SLGBTQIA+ groups, such as the 2-Spirit Collective at UNYA.
